WSIB Mental Health Program of Care

Have you sustained a workplace injury or trauma?
If you have sustained a workplace injury or trauma or your mental health has declined since your workplace stressor(s), you may be eligible for support through your workplace WSIB program.
To obtain mental health services for your work-related injury, you have to first register a claim with the WSIB:
Call the WSIB at 1-800- 387-0750 or (416) 344-1000 and explain that you would like to register a claim and seek care under the Mental Health Program of Care or visit the WSIB website to report a workplace injury or illness.
You will need to provide:
a. Your name, contact information, and date of birth
b. Your employer’s name and contact information (phone number, address, etc.)
c. Contact information of the psychologist you selected to provide your assessment and potential
treatment (see psychologist contact information in box)
d. Description of the incident/illness
If you already have a WSIB claim number:
Confirm with your WSIB case manager that you are approved for services under the WSIB Mental Health Program of Care. Let us know if you have been approved for:
a psychological assessment, or
treatment

Flow of care
Psychological Assessment
A Psychologist or Psychological Associate will provide a diagnostic assessment to evaluate the impact of your workplace injury, trauma, or stressor(s)
Psychotherapy
The WSIB MHPOC approves 8 sessions over the course of 8 weeks per block of treatment.
Progress monitoring
We will monitor your treatment progress and if needed update your treatment goals and make new recommendations. A treatment report will be shared with WSIB after the 7th session or 7th week (whichever comes first).
Follow-up psychological Assessment
If needed, your WSIB Case Manager might request for a follow-up psychological assessment to be completed by a Psychologist or Psychological Associate.
